Your epidermis is showing...

We all know, smoking is bad for your lungs, but what it does to your skin is just ugly.

I used to smoke, but I quit. Why? There are tons of reasons, but just to name a couple big ones....I could NOT get over how it makes you get wrinkles (or that rough smokers voice).

Anyway back to skin, which is the biggest organ in your body, and just like any organ, it needs to be cared for, if you want it to stay in good condition.

There are certain vegetables and fruits, that are good for your skin. For example Eggplant, which I was happy to learn about, on the Dr. OZ show. Here's another article about how eggplant has treated skin cancer....http://www.nutritionresearchcenter.org/healthnews/home-treatment-for-skin-cancer-with-eggplant-derivative/ . Avocados (anti-aging), cucumbers, bell peppers (and some others), and leafy greens are some others. Oils such as Olive oil, are good for moisturizing and anti-aging also.

Water and Green Tea are very beneficial for your skin, over all health, and digestion. Digestion problems can cause things like blemishes on your face; especially around your lips. I was told this by my aestetrician. If you can buy organic food, it is really the way to go, because it has no additives, preservatives, or pesticides, meaning it is much better for your digestive system. So, your stomach and skin will benefit.

Stress causes breakouts, and pissed off faces cause wrinkles. Not very attractive. When I was young my dad always told me, "if you keep making that face, it might stay that way." Little did I know, when you get older, and you skin starts losing it's elasticity, it really will take the form of what facial expression it does most. If you are a angry, mad, or miserable, your face will stay like that. Make sure you smile! Smiling is the best thing you can ever do. Everyone loves a happy person, unless they're a miserable person.

Exfoliate your skin, messaging gently (especially gentle around the eyes), and moisturize it. It is important to rid your skin of it's dead cells. Doing this, in combination with the massaging motion, will help in keeping pores unclogged, as well. Once you unclog them, you need to make sure the lotion you put on your face isn't going to clog them again. Make sure you use a face lotion which also protects your skin. Even if it's just SPF 15, it's better then nothing.

Not that outer beauty and judging people on their skin is right, but when it comes to your outer appearance, make it as healthy and beautiful as possible. It's the skin you live in. Treat it nice and don't forget to smile! : )
